After a horrific car accident, robotics expert Gemma becomes guardian of her orphaned niece Cady. Gemma is completely overwhelmed by this new situation, as things are not going well at work. Everything seems to be working out perfectly, and Cady has found a new best friend in M3GAN. But the doll, equipped with artificial intelligence, soon develops a murderous protective instinct. Gerard Johnstone's film doesn't lack good ideas for thought, but it does not also lack excitement, and the film constantly oscillates between seriousness and comedy.
